The Foundation manages 22 Funds which fall into the following 6 categories:
- Unrestricted Funds
- Donor-Advised Funds
- Donor-Designated Funds
- Agency Funds
- Scholarship/Bursary Funds
- Field-of-Interest Funds
All of the Funds listed below accept donations. There is a brief explanation of how the earnings from each Fund are used.
These Funds are under the sole direction of the Foundation.
The earnings on these Funds are used to support the objectives of the Foundation in concert with the advice of the donors regarding the specific grants being made.
- Community Fund — $136K
Earnings are used to support any grant requests that are consistent with the objectives of the Foundation. Disbursements from this Fund support grant applications of a general nature. All unspecified donations are placed into this Fund
The earnings on these Funds are used to support specific local charitable organizations designated by the donor.
- Milton Family Fund — $105.6K
To support the development of the environment and arts and culture in the community
- Mary Moore Ecological Fund — $141.4K
To support the environmental and ecological well-being of the area, with special emphasis on the Grant's Creek area
- Mary Jane and Bob Brown Memorial Fund — $5.4K
To support the general objectives of the Foundation
These Funds originate with other local charities and require special treatment to satisfy the Canada Revenue Agency. The earnings on the Fund are returned to the originating agency or are disbursed to support grant requests that are consistent with the objectives of the originating agency.
- Rotary Club of North Renfrew Fund — $12.2K
The earnings are all being reinvested in the Fund at present. The Rotary Club will designate the recipient charity (charities) at some time in the future
- Original Six Hockey Fund — $17.6K
To support minor hockey in Deep River and surrounding areas
- Laurentian Hills Youth Fund — $5.1K
To support youth activities in Laurentian Hills
- W.G. Cross Concert Piano Fund — $10.7K
To support the care, maintenance, upkeep and repair of the Steinway concert grand piano owned by the Community Association and available for the enjoyment of the community at large
- Jean and Bruce Bigham Student Activity Fund — $14.4K
To support local students taking part in extracurricular and holiday time activities
These Funds are specifically for the purpose of providing scholarships and/or bursaries to students of registered institutes of learning. Selection criteria are set by the originating donor and then managed by either the Foundation or the specified institute.
- North Renfrew Family Services Fund — $93.6K
The earnings are returned to the North Renfrew Family Services
- Library Endowment Fund — $20.9K
The earnings are returned to the Deep River Library
- Four Seasons Conservancy Fund — $85.5K
The earnings are returned to the Four Seasons Conservancy
- Renfrew County United Way Fund — $5.3K
The earnings are returned to the Renfrew County United Way
These Funds are under the sole direction of the Foundation but have been set up by the originating donor (or the Foundation) to address a specific area of interest.
- Elizabeth Hulbert Memorial Fund — $11.3K
To provide scholarships for post-secondary music students and to support local junior choirs
- MCS Reunion Scholarship Fund — $20.6K
To provide a scholarship or bursary for a graduating student or students of Mackenzie Community School
- Deep River Science Academy Scholarship Fund — $15.9K
To provide a scholarship or bursary for a student enrolled in the Deep River Science Academy
- Order of the Eastern Star (Pembroke #288) Bursary Fund — $16.7K
To provide a bursary on a rotating basis to graduating students at: Fellowes High School; Mackenzie Community School; General Panet High School; Opeongo High School; and Madawaska Valley District High School
- Environmental Legacy Fund — $19.8K
To support the objectives of the Foundation with emphasis on the environment
- Arts and Education Fund — $7.6K
To support the objectives of the Foundation with emphasis on the Arts & Education
- Foundation Development Fund — $12.8K
This Fund has primarily been funded by donations from past and present Directors of the Foundation. The earnings are used to defray the operating costs of the Foundation
- Deep River Area Health Care Fund (Memorial) — $10.5K
Started by Andrew White in memory of Annabel Taylor and by Dave Thompson with donations in memory of Vic Thompson. To support the health care institutions and other health care initiatives in Deep River and surrounding areas
- Laura A Cooper Memorial Fund (Memorial - agreement pending) — $29.9K
